Established in AD 1761, Kumbanad Marthoma Valiya Pally has undergone its fifth reconstruction to accommodate a larger worship community. The church holds a rich history of divine sacramentation. The construction of this significant project commenced 14 months prior and successfully concluded within the 14th month, fulfilling the aspirations of numerous parishioners.
The church committee, recognizing the importance of enhancing the audio system, sought the expertise of various integrators and acoustic consultants. Ultimately, they selected Zacs and Phils, renowned specialists in house of worship installations. Careful consideration was given to the selection of audio systems to ensure optimal intelligibility of speech and music in the expansive venue. The church was designed and constructed with a unique style by architect Jeff Antony. Initially, there were concerns about potential acoustical issues, such as high reverberations and echoes. However, these concerns were ultimately resolved, as the structure did not exhibit any acoustical problems.
A simulation was conducted to gain insights into the loudspeaker system required for creating an immersive soundscape. The newly implemented audio reinforcement features Turbosounds NuQ Series Subwoofers and Tannoy VLS loudspeakers powered by Lab.gruppen amplifiers. Control is facilitated through the Behringer X32 digital mixing console, complemented by signal processing from Marani. Additionally, a range of world-class microphones from the industry-leading brand Audio-Technica was incorporated into the setup.
The dedication and attention to detail exhibited by the Zacs and Phils team were highly praised by the church authorities Specially by Mr Bijo Varghese , Secretary, Mr George Joseph, Convenor and Trustee, and Rev Monsi K Philip Vicar , Kumbanad Mar Thoma valiyapally who were understandably pleased with the successful completion of this dream project.
The Project was highly appreciated by Rev. John Mathai, the Former Director of the Department of Sacred Music and Communications (DSMC), known for his significant contributions to the music ministry of the Mar Thoma Church across the globe.
